Building your kit

Yes, all solder in CircuitMess kits is lead-free and RoHS compliant; still solder in a well-ventilated room.

Is your solder lead-free?

Usually a dirty or oxidised tip: clean it while hot and re-tin it. If it still will not heat, send us a video and we will sort out a replacement.

My soldering iron is not working. How can I fix it?

Clear a solder bridge with flux and a desoldering pump or wick, or reheat and drag the iron away.

I messed up a soldering joint and the solder is touching two pins. How do I fix it?

That is oxidation: clean the hot tip on brass wool or a damp sponge and re-tin with fresh solder.

What should I do if my soldering iron tip turns black and stops melting solder?
