Protective Goggles FAQ
Are the goggles adjustable? Will they fit different head sizes (kids and adults)?
Yes. The strap adjusts, and the same pair suits most children and adults. If you wear glasses, try the goggles over your frames before you start a build.
What protection do these goggles give?
They are designed to shield your eyes from solder splashes and from component legs flying off when you trim them, which is what usually goes wrong on a build. No certified safety-standard rating is on file for them, so if you need eye protection certified to a specific standard — EN 166 in the EU or ANSI Z87.1 in the US, which some schools and workplaces require — use goggles carrying that mark.
When should I wear these goggles while building CircuitMess kits?
Wear them whenever you are soldering or trimming component legs. The build guide for your kit sets out those steps.
