The screen ribbon is the one genuinely delicate part of the Codee 2.0 build, so this step deserves slow hands.
Follow the build-guide photographs exactly for this step, at circuitmess.com/blogs/resources. Look at the photo before you touch the part, so you know which way round and how far it goes.
Never pull, fold or crease the ribbon. It can curve gently; it cannot take a sharp bend or a tug.
No force, ever. If it does not seem to want to go, stop and re-read the step — the correct movement is gentle. Force is how ribbons tear.
Keep fingers off the contacts at the end of the ribbon, and work over the desk so nothing hangs by the ribbon's own weight.
If the ribbon has torn, stop the build and email [email protected] with your order number and a photo of the damage. Be straightforward with us about what happened: a part that arrived damaged is replaced free of charge, and a part torn during assembly can still be replaced — that one is charged, and we always quote the price before anything is billed.
