My Rimac Nevera does not drive or steer properly after the build

What to check when a built Nevera will not drive straight, steer, or respond to the controller.

A Nevera that will not drive or steer at the end of the build is nearly always a connection or pairing issue rather than a faulty car, and it is worth these checks before you email us.

  • Charge both units fully — the car and the Time Attack Controller — and try again. Low charge on either side shows up as weak, jerky or absent driving.

  • Compare the drivetrain steps against the build guide at circuitmess.com/blogs/resources: wheels seated fully on their shafts, nothing rubbing against the casing, and every connector on the board seated fully and the right way round per the photographs.

  • Check the controller pairing. Pairing is done from the Time Attack Controller — follow the pairing steps in the usage guide.

  • Restore the firmware on both units from code.circuitmess.com on a desktop computer running Chrome, Edge or Opera, connecting the units one at a time. If coding experiments are on either unit, this puts them back to how they shipped.

If it still will not drive or steer, email us with your order number, a short video of what it does when you try, and photos of the underside and the board. Say whether the controller screen responds — a live controller with a dead car points somewhere different from two dead units.
