MAKERphone 2.0 is a 4G phone you build yourself, and unlike the original MAKERphone it needs no soldering. Our Kickstarter campaign closed on Saturday 10 October 2026 and was successfully funded. MAKERphone 2.0 is now available as a pre-order in our web shop on the MAKERphone 2.0 page, which also has everything we have shown so far.
How to pre-order it
Go to the MAKERphone 2.0 page in our web shop and place a pre-order there. Checkout shows the shipping options and cost for your country before you pay. The page shows our current estimated ship date, which is an estimate rather than a promise.
Shipping for backers
If you backed MAKERphone 2.0 on Kickstarter, shipping is calculated in the pledge manager, where you also enter your delivery address and pick add-ons, so you will not get a shipping quote before then. We cannot give a delivery date here. Backers get behind-the-scenes updates from our workshop as the project moves towards delivery.
The LoRa module
The $800K LoRa stretch goal was not reached during the campaign. The LoRa module now comes in the Pro Module Pack together with eight other modules, and you can pre-order the pack in our web shop. A LoRa module on its own is not sold.
SIM cards and networks
MAKERphone 2.0 takes a standard nano-SIM, as the product page says; which network bands and VoLTE it supports are not confirmed yet. See Will MAKERphone 2.0 work with my SIM card and mobile network?, or message us here with the country and network you would use it on and a colleague will tell you what is known so far.
The $1 reservation
If you reserved a unit for $1 before the campaign, see Where is my MAKERphone 2.0 reservation?, or message us here and a colleague will check it for you.
