Yes. If you have backed one of our Kickstarter campaigns and you would like your money back, you can get it. What you need to do depends on how far along the campaign is.
While the campaign is still running. Kickstarter only collects pledges when a campaign closes, so at that stage no money has reached us and there is nothing for us to refund. Cancel or change your pledge in your Kickstarter account and you will not be charged. If you are having trouble doing that, message us here and we will point you to the right place.
Once the campaign has closed, and before your reward has been sent, message us here, or email [email protected], and include:
which campaign you backed
your backer number, if you have it to hand
the email address you pledged with
The backer number is the quickest way for us to find you, but the email address you used is enough on its own if you cannot find it. You do not need to give a reason, and we refund to the payment method you pledged with. The refund is issued in full, including any shipping and VAT collected with the pledge.
One thing that helps. Please come to us directly rather than opening a payment dispute. A dispute freezes the money with the payment provider and makes it slower for you, where a straightforward email is something we can just action.
If your reward has already been delivered, it stops being a pledge question and becomes an ordinary return, with the time limits and conditions that go with one. Those are set out in What is CircuitMess’ refund policy?, and how to send it back is in How to pack and send a return.
