If a track comes loose, don’t panic. A quick turn of a screw puts it right back.
If you’re driving Butter Bot around and one of its tracks starts slipping, or pops off completely, don’t worry. It’s an easy fix, and it only takes a few minutes.
The screw on the side of the track assembly holds the track and gears to Butter Bot’s body. Sometimes that screw works itself a little loose, and the track loses its grip. Tightening it again sorts everything out.
Before you start
Turn Butter Bot off and place it on a flat surface.
Grab a small screwdriver.
Tightening the screw
Gently pop off the decorative side cover on the track assembly. This exposes the screw.
Line the track assembly up so it sits over the hub.
Tighten the screw until it’s snug. Snug is enough, so don’t overtighten it.
Before you put the cover back, test the tracks. Turn Butter Bot on and drive it with the controller. Watch that both tracks move smoothly and nothing is catching or snagging.
Once everything runs smoothly, snap the side cover back on.
That’s it! Butter Bot is ready to roll again.
