Fresh out of the box? Plug Butter Bot into a USB-C charger and let it charge before you switch it on for the first time.
Waking it up
To bring Butter Bot to life, press and hold the power button for about three seconds. A red light turns on, and you get a greeting before it settles into its idle state.
Not sure what the light is telling you? See What does the light on Butter Bot mean?
Putting it to bed
Done for the day? Hold the button for three seconds again, or simply tell it to shut down — "Shut down", "Power down" and "Turn yourself off" all work.
If it won't respond
If it ever locks up or behaves oddly, press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds to force a full shutdown. Give it a second, switch it back on, and it'll start fresh. It's the classic fix — hard reset.
