Start with the batteries. A Beep Boop that will not switch on is a disappointing thing to unbox, and it is usually a five-minute fix. It arrives fully assembled, so there is nothing to build, and it runs on two AAA cells.
We pack those cells with the toy wherever shipping rules let us send batteries. A few destinations do not allow it, and there the box arrives without them, so if yours came with none, standard AAA cells from any shop are what you need. Work through this in order:
Remove any plastic tab in the battery compartment, pulling it all the way out.
Check that both cells sit the right way round.
Fit two fresh alkaline AAA cells. Do not mix an old cell with a new one, or cells of different brands.
Close the compartment and switch the Beep Boop on again.
If the screen has frozen during a mini-game and the controls do nothing, take both cells out, leave it for a minute and put them back.
If it still does nothing on fresh cells, stop there and treat it as a fault rather than something to fix at home. Message us here, or email [email protected], with your order number, which of the four characters it is, and a short video of what happens when you fit fresh cells.
A Beep Boop that reached you faulty is replaced free of charge. Damage that happened after you started using it is chargeable, and we always quote the price before anything is sent.
