A token that does nothing is usually one of three things: the wrong console, an unlock that was never confirmed on screen, or a faulty token. The checks below sort out which, and they take a couple of minutes.
Confirm the console is a Bit. The expansions are made for the Bit retro console only, so a token will not unlock anything on ByteBoi 2.0, Codee 2.0 or any other CircuitMess device.
Insert the token fully and watch the screen. Bit confirms on screen when an expansion is connected and then asks you to press a button to unlock the game. Our article I can't access all of the games on Bit walks through that step.
Look for the new game in the console menu afterwards. Unlocking adds the game to your list rather than starting it, and once unlocked it stays there, so the token does not need to remain plugged in.
If you own more than one expansion, try another token in the same console. If the second one unlocks and the first still does not, the token is the more likely culprit rather than the Bit.
There is nothing to assemble first. The token is ready to play as it comes.
If it still does nothing after those checks, that is a defective part and we replace it free of charge. The same goes if the token, or any of the 14 trading cards, was missing from the pack when you opened it. A token damaged in use is a different case. We can still send a replacement for that, and we quote the price before anything is sent.
