No. CircuitBlocks runs in your browser, so you need an active internet connection to open it, write code and save your projects.
Working in the browser is what lets us keep the device libraries and firmware up to date for you, with nothing to install or patch by hand.
The old desktop version of CircuitBlocks was discontinued in 2023 and is no longer supported. If you find an installer for it online, we would not recommend using it. CircuitBlocks Agent is a separate small desktop helper that some setups use to talk to the hardware, and that is not an offline editor.
Browser compatibility
To talk to your CircuitMess hardware, your browser needs to support Web Serial. That means a desktop Chromium browser.
Works: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera.
Does not work: Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer do not support Web Serial, so they cannot connect to your device.
Phones and tablets are not supported. CircuitBlocks needs a desktop or laptop computer.
If your device will not connect, first make sure Chrome is up to date. You can check Web Serial support here: https://caniuse.com/web-serial
