What do I do if my device is defective?

What to send us if your CircuitMess device isn’t working, and when a replacement part is free.

Message us here, or email [email protected], and we’ll work out what’s wrong with it. Please include:

  • Your order number

  • Photos of the problem — front and back of the circuit board where that’s relevant

  • A short description of what isn’t working

  • What was happening just before it stopped working

We don’t do physical repairs. When a part needs replacing we post you the part and talk you through fitting it.

When the part is free

If a part is genuinely faulty, the replacement is free. If a component was missing from the box, or anything else went wrong on our side, that’s free too.

If something was damaged in use or during assembly — dropped, mis-wired, put together the wrong way round, or overheated — we can still send you the part, but we charge for it. We always quote you the price first, and nothing is ordered until you say yes.

We can’t tell which of those applies from a description alone, which is why we ask for photos before saying anything about cover.

Your kit also has our 24-month warranty from the date of purchase, running alongside your legal guarantee. See Do your kits have a warranty? for what that covers.
