Does CircuitBlocks work offline?Updated 2 days ago

Yes, CircuitBlocks is a web-based application, which means an active internet connection is mandatory to access the platform, write code, and save your projects.

Currently, we do not offer a desktop version, and there are no plans to release one within the next year. Operating in the cloud allows us to ensure you always have the most up-to-date features and seamless firmware updates for your devices without needing to manually install software patches.

Important: Browser Compatibility

To ensure your computer can talk to your CircuitMess hardware, you need a browser that supports the WebSerial interface.

  • Recommended Browsers: We highly recommend using Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Opera.

  • Unsupported Browsers: Currently, Safari and Firefox do not support the necessary connection features and will not work with CircuitBlocks.

  • Pro Tip: If you're having trouble connecting your device, double-check that you are using the latest version of Chrome.

You can see a full compatibility chart here: https://caniuse.com/web-serial .

Don't worry, this usually means the code upload was interrupted. Keep the device connected to your computer and try to upload a simple 'Hello World' example, or use the 'Restore Firmware' button in CircuitBlocks to reset the device to its factory state.

If that doesn't do the trick, please don't hesitate to contact our support team at [email protected]. We're here to help you get everything back up and running!
