Orion Watch and your phone

What your watch can do once it is paired with an Android phone or an iPhone.

Connecting your watch to your phone

Your Orion Watch pairs with a phone, and once it does it becomes a second screen for the things you keep pulling your phone out for. How you connect depends on which phone you have.

On Android, install CircuitMess Connect, our free app, from the Play Store. Open it, grant the permissions it asks for, then tap Start searching devices and pick your Orion Watch from the list. There is a step-by-step guide at circuitmess.com/connect-app.

On iPhone, there is no app to install. Open Settings > Bluetooth on your phone and pair the watch from there.

What works on any phone

These three work the same whether your phone runs Android or iOS.

Notifications on your wrist. When something lands on your phone, the watch shows you which app it came from, the title and the text. You can dismiss it from the watch.

Media controls. Play, pause, skip forward and skip back, without digging the phone out of your pocket.

A clock that sets itself. The watch takes the date and time from your phone, so you never set it by hand.

What Android adds

Find my phone. Tap it on the watch and your phone rings and vibrates, even if you left it on silent. Excellent for the gap down the back of the sofa.

What iPhone adds

Volume control for whatever is playing on the phone, straight from the watch.

Calls. When the phone rings you can answer or reject the call from your wrist.

Phone battery. The watch shows how much charge your phone has left.

If the watch and the phone will not find each other

Keep the two within arm's reach while you pair them, and give the watch a charge first if it has been sitting in the box for a while.

A watch can be paired to one phone at a time. If it was paired to a different phone before, remove it from that phone first.

On Android, CircuitMess Connect needs every permission on its first screen granted before it will connect. The Continue button stays greyed out until they all read Granted.

On Android, a watch that has disconnected does not come back on its own. Open the app and tap the device to reconnect it.

Still stuck? Email [email protected] and tell us which phone you have and what the watch is doing. We will pick it up from there.
