Below is what each of these nine bundles contains, how long the building takes and who it suits. The Music, Retro, RC, Virtual Pet and Wacky Collector's bundles are covered in CircuitMess Bundles — Frequently Asked Questions.

  • Beep Boop Bundle - all four Beep Boops: Kirin the inventor, Tochi the explorer, Mochi the dreamer and Miao Miao the prankster. Nothing to build. Each one arrives fully assembled and takes 2 AAA batteries. We pack the cells with the toys wherever shipping rules let us send batteries, so that is usually eight batteries in the box - a few destinations do not allow it, and there the box arrives without them and standard AAA cells from any shop are what you need. Put two or more of them near each other and they connect wirelessly and sing together, which is the reason to buy the set rather than one character.

  • Bestsellers Bundle - NASA Artemis Watch 2.0, Chatter 2.0 and Jay-D 2.0. The watch is ready to use out of the box; the other two are kits, about two hours for the Chatter 2.0 pair and about an hour and a half for Jay-D 2.0. Recommended for ages 9 and up. Suits someone who wants a spread rather than a theme: a wearable, a pair of messengers and a music device.

  • Coding Bundle 2.0 - Bit 2.0, Codee 2.0 and ByteBoi 2.0. Three kits you build and then program. Codee 2.0 is about half an hour, Bit 2.0 up to an hour, and ByteBoi 2.0 about an hour and a half. Recommended for ages 11 and up. Suits someone whose interest is programming itself rather than one particular gadget.

  • Epic Gaming Bundle - six kits: Wheelson 2.0, Synthia 2.0, Codee 2.0, ByteBoi 2.0, Jay-D 2.0 and Chatter 2.0, plus a Silicone Work Mat as a free gift. Recommended for ages 9 and up, with around nine hours of building in total. Suits a household that wants a run of projects rather than one weekend.

  • Gizmo Bundle 2.0 - Chatter 2.0, Clockstar 2.0 and Codee 2.0. Three kits, all built by you: about half an hour for Codee 2.0, around an hour for Clockstar 2.0 and about two hours for the Chatter 2.0 pair. Recommended for ages 9 and up. Suits someone drawn to pocket gadgets: a smartwatch, a virtual pet and a pair of messengers.

  • Mars Exploration Bundle - NASA Artemis Watch 2.0, the NASA Mars Perseverance Rover, the Rover expansion modules and a Tools Pack, plus a Silicone Work Mat as a free gift. The expansion modules are the AI vision camera with ArUco stickers, and the Mission Control handset with a joystick, encoders and a built-in LCD. Recommended for ages 11 and up. The Rover on its own takes around 20 hours to assemble, so treat this as one long project rather than several short ones.

  • NASA Collector's Bundle - one NASA Artemis Watch 2.0 and all four official straps: Mars Red, Starlight, Stellar Blue and Violet Supernova. Nothing to build. The straps are woven nylon and change over on quick-release pins without tools. Recommended for ages 9 and up.

  • Smartwatch Bundle - NASA Artemis Watch 2.0 and Clockstar 2.0. One watch is ready to use, the other takes around an hour to build. Recommended for ages 9 and up. Suits someone who wants to see a finished wearable and then build one.

  • Ultimate STEM Bundle - nineteen items: Wheelson 2.0, ByteBoi 2.0, Synthia 2.0, Clockstar 2.0, Jay-D 2.0, Chatter 2.0, NASA Artemis Watch 2.0, the NASA Mars Perseverance Rover, Codee 2.0, Bit 2.0 and all nine Wacky Robot Bit Expansions, plus a Tools Pack and a Silicone Work Mat as a free gift. It is the largest bundle we sell, and the total build time is 30 hours or more, spread over weeks or months. There is something in it for ages 7 and up.

Of these nine, only the Mars Exploration and Ultimate STEM bundles include a Tools Pack. The rest contain their kits and nothing else, so if you are buying a bundle that needs soldering and do not already own an iron, add the Tools Pack to your order. Some of our kits are assembled with the screwdriver in the box and need no soldering at all, so check the kit's own page before you buy tools you will not use.

The Silicone Work Mat comes free with three of the nine: Epic Gaming, Mars Exploration and Ultimate STEM. The Bestsellers, Coding, Gizmo, Smartwatch, NASA Collector's and Beep Boop bundles do not include one.

Not everything in a bundle needs building. The NASA Artemis Watch 2.0 and the Beep Boops arrive assembled and work straight away, and the Bit expansions in the Ultimate STEM Bundle are game tokens and trading cards rather than kits. Everything else listed above is a kit you put together, so expect a mix of finished devices and boxes of parts in the same delivery.

Buy for the hardest kit in the box rather than the bundle's headline age. The Epic Gaming Bundle is recommended for ages 9 and up and Synthia 2.0 inside it is an 11 and up build, so plan on an adult working alongside a younger builder for that one.

If you are still not sure which bundle fits, message us here, or email [email protected], with the age of the person you are buying for and what they are into, and we will tell you which one to pick.
