Codee 2.0 is a kit you build and program yourself. A Beep Boop is finished when it arrives: switch it on and play.

You assemble it, in about 30 minutes, using the screwdriver included in the box.
Recommended from age 7, with no previous experience needed. Younger children could get involved with a grown-up's help.
It teaches real-time clocks, low-power design, electronics and coding, plus hands-on practice at assembling components.
Six games come with the kit, and you can code your own in CircuitBlocks, our browser-based coding tool. CircuitBlocks has a visual block mode and a text mode, and the language in the text mode is MicroPython.
Coding Codee in CircuitBlocks writes MicroPython over its stock firmware. CircuitBlocks has a Restore stock firmware action that puts the original games back.
Power comes from the LiPo battery in the box.
Beep Boop
Fully assembled: fit 2 AAA cells and start playing. We supply the cells with the toy wherever shipping rules let us send batteries. A few destinations do not allow it, and there the box arrives without them, so you buy standard AAA cells locally. There is more in My kit didn't come with batteries. Is that a mistake?.

Four characters, sold separately: Kirin the inventor, Tochi the adventurous one, Mochi the creative one and Miao Miao the prankster.
Each has four built-in mini-games, over 50 unique sounds and reactions, and needs of its own to attend to.
Place two or more near each other and they connect wirelessly for A Capella mode, in which they sing together.
Choose Codee if the point is building and coding. Choose a Beep Boop if the point is a pet to play with straight away, or if you are buying for a younger child.
