Do you have Spencer that speaks French/German/Spanish/Italian/etc.?

Applies to Spencer, a discontinued CircuitMess kit.

No. Spencer speaks and understands English only, and we do not sell a version in any other language. Spencer has also been discontinued, so no further language support is coming from us.

Spencer is open-source and fully programmable, so the voice side can be changed in its code. It is a real project rather than a setting: you would be working with Spencer's firmware in the Arduino IDE and with the speech services it calls, and how well it turns out depends on the language and the service you use. CircuitBlocks is not the tool for this — it writes MicroPython for our current devices and does not reach Spencer's speech code.

If you want to attempt it, the firmware and schematics are on our GitHub. One customer got Spencer speaking Slovenian and published both his code and a step-by-step write-up — see Can I program Spencer to speak another language? for those links. Other makers share what they have tried on our community forum, and Is there a community forum where I can show off my projects? lists the other places you can reach them.
