How do I insert SD/SIM card?

Applies to Ringo (MAKERphone), a discontinued CircuitMess kit.

SIM Card

The SIM and SD slots are both micro size, so they take a micro SIM card and a micro SD card only. The micro SIM slot is on the left side of the phone, just below the screen. SIM cards usually come in the nano size, and a nano SIM will only work in Ringo if you fit it into a nano-to-micro adapter first.

Hold the SIM with the golden contacts facing upwards and the cut-off corner facing away from the phone, line it up with the small plastic tray, and push it gently in until it clicks. To take it out, push it gently inwards again and it releases.

Before you can make calls or send messages, turn the phone off and then on again. Either hold the power button below the screen, or hold the ON button on the right-hand side of the brain board.

SD Card

The micro SD slot is at the bottom of the brain board, right next to the charging port. Hold the card with the golden contacts facing upwards and the thick edge facing away from the phone, then push it gently in until it clicks. Push it inwards again to release it.

The SD card is usable as soon as it is in. There is no need to restart the phone.
